About This Coffee
SHB stands for 'Strictly Hard Bean', while EP stands for 'European Preparation'.
These terms are localised quality markers used by Guatemalan producers to differentiate their lots and are only reserved for coffees that are produced in the highest altitude within the region with a higher concentration of sugars and density.
Huehuetenango stands apart as one of Central America's highest regions that produce exceptional quality coffee. These coffees are the life work of smallholder indigenous families from Mam and Mayan groups.
Regional microclimates, shaped by the interaction of warm valley currents from Mexico's plains and cool mountain air translate to a higher potential for richer and sweeter flavours.
